Minnesota Lynx Triumph Over ATL

The Atlanta Dream have lost 2 in a row and they’re back at home hoping for a win this evening. They face Sylvia Fowles and the Minnesota Lynx. At the tip-off, Sylvia Fowles comes out with the first score of the game. Minnesota immediately run with the lead 8-2 at the beginning. The Dream’s Rhyne Howard answers back with a head to head scoring drive on the Lynx. She comes out and drops a 20-footer from the corner, bringing Atlanta within three. Howard is 3-5 from the field. Naz Hillmon contributes with a driving layup to bring the Dream with 2 points with 1:41 left in the quarter. Atlanta are looking to go to their 2nd unit scoring to give them the advantage of coming from behind the deficit. The Dream are missing one of their key scorers in Asia Durr who has missed 2 games. Minnesota goes full throttle in the 2nd quarter. They’re not showing any signs of stopping their explosive run. They have added to their lead. (32-18 – shooting 67% in the half) Rhyne Howard takes charge to bring her team from under the command of the Lynx ‘s offense. She scores a tough shot in the paint with 4:58 left in the half. Howard is the leading scorer for Atlanta with 11 points.

At the start of the 3rd, (49-28) Tiffany Hayes comes out strong to try and breathe life into the Dream’s offense. Hayes shot 67% in the Dream’s last game. The advantage Minnesota has over the Dream are the fast beak points. They are at 11-0 versus ATL thus far. Atlanta tries to use zone defense to deceive the Lynx scoring drive. Meanwhile, the Lynx’s Moriah Jefferson is having a stellar performance on the court with 14 points for the night. Minnesota does not miss a step going into the 4th. It appears that the Dream were trying to make a run for the win, however time was not on their side. Tiffany Hayes goes on a scoring rampage to stop the bleeding for her team. She finishes the night with 24 points. She also brings her team within a 7 point deficit with 5:51 left to play. The Minnesota Lynx were able to hold on to win 92-85. Atlanta’s next game will be Friday night facing the Dallas Wings in the Gateway Arena.
