The Belmont Stakes took place this past Saturday, ending thrillingly as Mo Donegal picked up his first Triple Crown victory. The crowd came out for the Belmont Stakes as they expected 50,000 people, who all packed into Belmont Park to watch the 154th running of the Belmont Stakes. Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike was the fan-favorite as he upset Epicenter in the Kentucky Derby this past month but could not do well in the rough conditions that Belmont posed. We the people, who was the favorite to win in odds, could not capture the victory over Mo Donegal. We The People took the early lead as they went around the clubhouse turn but slowed down on the final stretch. Mo Donegal slowly came up to make the first move over We The People and overtook We the People on the outside corner. Mo then took charge and separated him from the rest of the field. Nest was able to work his way up to second place, passing We the People and Skippylongstocking. Skippylongstocking ended in third, barely over We the People, who ran in 4th. Rich Strike placed 6th behind Creative Minister, who placed 5th. The Payouts for exacta, trifecta, and superfecta are as follows.

Exacta 6-3 $2 exacta paid $27.60
Trifecta 6-3-2 $0.50 trifecta paid $93.75
Superfecta 6-3-2-1 $1 superfecta paid $692.00
