Within the first two nights of the NBA Season, many NBA Rookies have already proved that they will be able to hang with the best of the best in the NBA. The reason is- many of them showed out in more ways than one. Not only did Paolo Banchero post a historic night, but Shaedon Sharpe looked like he may be valuable to the Blazers’ bench.

NBA Rookies

Paolo Banchero

The No.1 overall pick posted a historic stat line, becoming the third player since 1969 to put up 25+ points, while also coming away with 5+ rebounds, and 5+ assists. Banchero is the first to do it since LeBron in 2003.

Jaden Ivey

While Ivey was playing against Banchero, he showed off his skills on both ends of the court. The Detroit Pistons guard came away with 19 points, four assists, and three steals en route to a Pistons win.

Shaedon Sharpe

Scouts have loved the Blazers rookie, but he has had some struggles early on. He got injured in summer league, and didn’t look great the first two games of camp. When it mattered most though, he was ready. He helped the Blazers get the win on opening night.

Jabari Smith Jr.

Though, his team lost, the Rockets PF didn’t disappoint in his NBA debut. He finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, and one assist.

Bennedict Mathurin

The Indiana Pacers G received a team-high 28 minutes off the bench in his debut, and put up some strong numbers. He finished with 19 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Jalen Duren

Outside of Banchero, Duren may have had the most dominating performance. He posted a double-double off the bench.

Other Debuts:

Many other NBA Rookies made their debuts, including Ochai Agbaji, Jalen Williams, Ousmane Dieng, Jeremy Sochan, and Dyson Daniels. Only Sochanand Williams scored for their respective teams, we will have to wait another day for the others to score. Keegan Murray will be making his debut on Saturday.
