There are five to ten players most will people will name as MVP favorites depending on who you ask. Out of those five to ten teams, only two or three are real favorites, right? What if I told you there was another player that no one is talking about, that is over shadowed on his own team, yet, has the skill and potential to win the 2022-23 NBA MVP?

MVP Favorites

Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, and Ja Morant are the six favorites going into the NBA season for most valuable player award.

All of these players have MVP potential. Yet I am looking at a superstar who is even overshadowed on his own team by Zion Williamson‘s return to full strength.

Ingram to have a Breakout Season

Brandon Ingram has progressed every season since entering the NBA out of Duke. Last season saw him take a prominent role as the leader and leading scorer of the New Orleans Pelicans.

He is on pace to break out this season and have a season near the top of all offensive stats. On a Pelicans team that is geared to become a top 4 team in the western conference. He will finally get the notoriety he deserves as one of the best three guards in the league.

Ingram has been focus this off season on improving his all around game. With Zion’s return I believe he will have a more relaxed approached especially since the defense will not be zoned in on him specifically.

Brandon Ingram to Become Playmaker

He will get easier looks at the basket this season, become more efficient, and become a playmaker carrying this Pelicans team deep into the playoffs.

Between Zion forcing the defense to pack the lane and CJ McCollum stretching the floor with his long range assault.

Brandon Ingram will be able to isolate in the mid-range and get easy buckets on defenders in a one on one situation. He will be able to allow the flow of the game to come to him instead of forcing the issue.

“I am always thinking, who is working harder than me?”

Brandon Ingram will reach that next level of true superstar in this league. He will be top five player in this league for the next decade.

Come March 2023, I expect him to be one of the MVP front runners, and I will lock in this pick before the value drops.
