No. 22 NC State head to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, take on a Boston College on Saturday at 6:30 pm on ACC network. It is a showdown of two ACC Atlantic teams.
Boston College is 4-1 and 0-1 in the conference and NC State is 4-1 and 1-0 in the conference.
What’s At Stake?
NC State is looking to win its second game in the Conference and will need to if they want to catch up to Wake Forest who is 4-0 in the Conference. Their last few games have been closer than they would have liked but have a huge win over No. 9 Clemson. Boston College is trying to get their first conference win of the season but with the huge loss to Clemson last week, they will have to finish the season strong. They will need to play a great game and be able to outscore NC state.
Key Match Up
These two teams are pretty evenly matched coming into this game. These two defenses have played great at the start of the season. NC State only allows about 16 points per game and only 295.4 total yards per game. In addition, they also allow 92 rushing yards per game. Boston College allows the same points per game but allows 319.6 total yards per game. It will really come down to the defense that can create turnovers and stop the offense.
Players To Watch
For Nc State, Devin Leary has been consistent all year. He has 1,283 passing yards and 12 touchdowns and two interceptions. However, his rush yards are not as great because he has negative 36 yards but does have one touchdown. In addition, Leary has a 67.4 completion percentage.
For Boston College, Pat Garwo III will need to have another 100 rushing yard game. He has 73 carries for 469 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He will have to be able to get in the passing game because so far he does not have any catches. In addition, he does average 6.4 yards per carry and has a 67-yard run.
Final Thoughts
NC State is looking to continue its run to the conference championship. A win will keep Nc State as number two in the ACC Atlantic. Boston College is coming off of a loss against Clemson 19 to 13. A win in this game will push them up in the standings. Both teams need this win which will make this game a huge defensive battle. This is anyone’s game and will either make Boston College season or make NC State’s. Either team has shown greatness this season and the team that will win this game will need to show it a lot more during this game.
