The Yankees fell short of their goal in 2022. Though, it was a year that saw much success throughout, from Aaron Judge‘s historic season to the continued success and rise of Nestor Cortes to the playoff performance of Harrison Bader. However, the Yankees entered the offseason with some areas of need. Did they fill those? Check out our New York Yankees 2023 Preview:

The Yankees were aggressive this off-season. They locked up Judge, brought back Anthony Rizzo, and gave star pitcher Carlos Rodon a six-year deal. Now they’re primed for another run. However, the same question remains… can they beat the Astros?
The rotation looks stronger than ever with the addition of Rodon. Gerrit Cole continues to be a dependable starter like he has been for the majority of his career. If Luis Severino can stay healthy, then the Yankees will have three maybe four potential aces in their pitching staff in 2023. The last one is Nestor Cortes Jr. who is coming off of an All-Star season. Frankie Montas is expected to miss the majority of the season due to injury. This means the combination of Domingo German and Clarke Schmidt will shoulder a majority of the innings at the No. 5 spot in the rotation.
The Yankees have announced that top prospect Anthony Volpe has made the opening-day roster.
