NFL trades that should happen before the season starts could set balance and add value to these teams. Now that the NFL’s schedule has been released, teams can focus on specific opponents. Some of these trades may help push contenders over the edge. As well as help other teams be a little more competitive during the season. Undeniably these players on the list will add value to each proposed team trade.

Budda Baker To New York Giants

New York Giants Recieve: Budda Baker

Arizona Cardinals Recieve: 2024 second-round pick

The Arizona Cardinals appear to be headed toward a rough season. The team will be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray for a significant duration of the season. Baker requested a trade from the Cardinals in February. However, he stated that he would be willing to stay with the team if the Cardinals made him the highest-paid safety in the NFL. In reality, the Cardinals may not be willing to do that but Baker would be an ideal fit for an up-and-coming team. Therefore a team like the New York Giants would be an ideal fit. As well as they are trying to build on their NFC divisional round appearance.

Dalvin Cook To New York Jets

Jets Recieve: Dalvin Cook

Minnesota Vikings Recieve: 2024 fourth-round pick

The Vikings have some tough decisions ahead to make on Cook and various other players. Cook has a cap hit of 14.1 million dollars this season. As well as his cap hit rises to 15.6 million in 2024. Rumors are swirling that Cook may not be a Viking much longer. In today’s NFL teams haven’t been willing to spend big on running backs. However, a team with a small championship window might be able to do so. The Jets are an ideal fit for Cook after acquiring Aaron Rodgers. Cook could team up with Breece Hall and form one of the best running back tandems in the league.

Cordarelle Patterson To Cleveland Browns

Browns Recieve: Cordarelle Patterson

Atlanta Falcons Receive: 2024 seventh-round pick

The Falcons have plenty of capable running backs on the roster with not enough touches for them all. In like fashion the Falcons just drafted another running back Bijan Robinson. With bringing Robinson in Patterson could see his role diminished. Although Patterson is now 32 he has shown that he still has plenty in the tank. Given that the Browns declined to re-sign Kareem Hunt this off-season, therefore, this team is in need of another back. The Browns could use a versatile threat like Patterson out of the backfield. He would be a strong complement to Nick Chubb. Already having compensation from other NFL trades this off-season the Browns could send a seventh-round pick to get Patterson from Atlanta.

Ahkello Witherspoon To Las Vegas Raiders

Raiders Recieve: Ahkello Witherspoon

Pittsburgh Steelers receive: 2024 sixth-round pick

The Steelers overhauled the cornerback position this off-season and with new additions, they have resulted in a logjam that could have Witherspoon out. Witherspoon originally landed with the Steelers via trade at the start of the 2021 season. Witherspoon has seen sporadic action and a change of scenery could benefit him the most. Therefore, the Raiders could be a good fit for Witherspoon. The Raiders lack talented veterans in the secondary. There are some free-agent options the team can explore but Witherspoon might be the best option. He only has a 5.5 million dollar cap hit which is relatively cheap compared to other options.

Chase Young To Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks Recieve: Chase Young

Washington Commanders Recieve: 2024 second-round pick

Young could be an ideal trade candidate for the Seahawks after the Commanders declined his fifth-year option. When Young was drafted he came into the league red hot. However, he lost his momentum after he tore his ACL. He only has one and a half sacks over the last 12 games he’s played in. The Commanders did not want to make a pricey bet on Young’s recovery when they declined his fifth-year option. Given these points, if the Seahawks are willing to bet big on his recovery. They might be able to cash in big on the upside that Young presents. The question is if Seattle is willing to ship a second-round pick and conditional pick. If the Seahawks can help Young return to his form of all the proposed NFL trades this one could be the biggest get.
