Hockey season is approaching, so let’s take a look at which goaltenders you’re going to want to add to your fantasy hockey team.
The 26-year-old Ranger had an outstanding season in 2021-22. Although they didn’t make it to the Stanley Cup finals, he led the Rangers to the playoffs, and his talent on the ice is undeniably incredible. Igor ranks first in league with a .928 Sv% over the past three seasons. I can’t wait to see what he’ll bring to the table this upcoming season.
There should be no reason as to why there needs to be a reason for Vasilevskiy. He is at the top of the league and the main reason the Lightning are cup contenders. During the last five years, he has had two Stanley Cup rings and a Conn Smythe Trophy. You might want to change your strategy if he’s not first or even second on your list.
The Flames were in excellent shape last season, with Markstrom in the net. During the 2021-22 season, he was a runner-up for the Vezina trophy posting a .922 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average in 63 games. He sits at the top of my list.
4. Juuse Saros
Being one of the top goaltenders in the league Predators Saros had an excellent performance on ice last season, with a .918 save percentage and 2.64 goals against average. Although his ranking went down a little towards the end of the season, Saros is still an incredible goaltender, and he may even be leading as one of the top three goaltenders next season.
The only reason the Stars could get close to the Flames during the 2021-22 playoffs was because of Oettinger. His performance on the ice was incredible; averaging nearly 39 shots per game, he maintained a .954 save percentage in Dallas’ first round over Calgary. He is a crucial goaltender to look out for during the 2022-23 season.
