Nick Foligno has agreed to terms with the Boston Bruins. This makes absolutely no sense. Nick Foligno is 33 years old. He has signed a two year deal for just under four million a year. The former captain of the Blue Jackets was traded to the Maple Leafs. Before getting hurt, Foligno played on the fourth line with Joe Thornton and Jason Spezza.
The reason why this makes no sense is because the Bruins have already signed left shot forwards and have quite a few more under contract. Also, the Bruins need to get younger. This is a lateral move for that plan. It was rumored that he was going to sign with Minnesota to play with his brother. However, he lands with the B’s in the most confusing move in free agency so far. More to come when details become available.
