Former NFL Running back Peyton Hillis is being hospitalized after saving his children from drowning in a swimming incident. The Hillis children reportedly did not need any medical attention. The latest reports claim that Hillis is improving but he remains in intensive care for his lungs and kidneys.

According to Alyssa Orange, the family was in Pensacola, Florida when the accident occurred. The most recent news from Peyton Hillis’ uncle is that he is doing better than when he originally arrived at the hospital. However, he still reportedly remains unconscious.

Thoughts, prayers, and condolences have been reigning in on social media since the news first broke. NFL players, politicians, and many folks have been rightfully labeling Hillis as a hero and of course hoping for a quick recovery.

Peyton Hillis is most known for his time with the Cleveland Browns. In 2010 Hillis ran for 1,177 with 477 receiving yards and scored 13 total touchdowns. After having another solid 2011 season, he was voted as the Madden cover athlete for Madden 12. Hillis is also a former seventh-round pick out of Arkansas by the Denver Broncos. He last played in 2014.
