The Pittsburgh Steelers offense comes to life on their way to winning 24-17 against Indianapolis. This game had some thrilling action, then a very weird ending. Pittsburgh moves to now 4-7 while the Colts are 4-7-1.

Game Recap

Pittsburgh had a productive opening drive. They were able to move into position and got three points to take the early 3-0 lead. Matt Ryan threw a pick on the first possession for the Colts. Yannick Ngakoue got two huge sacks to force a punt in a situation the Steelers basically should have got at least three. The Colts would have the ball for barely three minutes in the first quarter and had zero yards. The Steelers would lead 3-0.

Pittsburgh would open the quarter with a 52 yard FG to make it 6-0 Steelers. Najee Harris would then rush one in to make the score 13-0 Steelers. The Colts would then put together a drive and would get a FG to make it 13-3 with 3 minutes left in the second quarter. Pittsburgh would add on another three with 59 seconds left to make it 16-3.

Colts would open up the half with an 89 yard return by Dallas Flowers into enemy territory. This would lead to a Jonathan Taylor TD to make the game 16-10 early into the third. Colts would come up on the doorsteps again but a fumbled exchange between Ryan and Taylor killed the drive. After a three and out for the Steelers, the Colts would drive. Jelani Woods had huge catches on the drive, and it would end with a touchdown to Michael Pittman to end the third 17-16 Colts.

The Steelers would answer back and go down the field and score themselves to make it 24-17. Benny Snell would get the TD while George Pickens got the two point try. The Colts had a three minute drill where Pittman and Woods had huge catches, one being on fourth down by Pittman. The Colts played the clock game badly and let it melt at the end of the game. They then failed a 4th and 3 and Pittsburgh would go on to win.

Takeaways

This win really does nothing for anyone. Colts loss means they are 4-7-1 and that playoffs hopes are all but over at this point. The Steelers are now 4-7 and basically have to win out for their playoff hopes. Both of these teams have some improving to do for next year, but the Steelers come away victorious today. The Steelers have some promise going into next year and maybe if they get lucky for the end of the season. The defense is good, and the offense has its moments here and there. As for the Colts, their need to find a way to be more consistent on offense. There are too many drives killed by bad plays or turnovers, and that is how you lose games. It will be interesting to see where these two teams go from here.
