Pius Suter is Off to Detroit

Pius Suter was probably the best young center on the market. Interestingly enough, the Chicago Blackhawks chose not to resign him. Pius Suter is coming off his rookie year in the NHL after playing the Swedish league. He had an opportunity to play on the same line as the great Patrick Kane, and he did very well. However, Suter is swapping original six franchises. He will now play for the Detroit Red Wings.

Suter’s deal is for two years and $3.25 million annually. The Red Wings are starving for success, and they need young players to do it. He has shown what he can do as a goal scorer. He became the second Blackhawk player to record a hat trick within his first six career NHL games games since Art Somers. In 1929, Somers scored three times in his fourth game. This signing is a huge boost to Detroit as they look to get back in it. More to follow when available.
