After a busy summer, it is fair to say that all eyes are on PSG for this upcoming season. The Parisians had a forgetful year last season. They fell short of the Champions League falling against Manchester City in semi finals, and even finished behind Lille OSC in the league. The only silverware they managed to win was the Coupe de France, which by their standards should not be anything to throw a parade over.

Due to last season’s failures. PSG is under pressure to win as much silverware possible to bounce back. Most importantly, they will have their eyes on the Champions League. Looking at PSG’s transfer activity this summer, it is safe to say they want all in this season. The French giants signed Achraf Hakimi from Internazionale to add more depth in the Rightback position. They also managed to sign Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Euro winner Gianluigi Donnarumma for less than what a McChicken would cost you. With reports from Onefootball claiming Lionel Messi will complete his PSG medical test tomorrow, it’s safe to say PSG are the scariest team on earth right now.

Why Is It Now Or Never?

Although PSG have assembled an impressive squad, there’s no promises that they will be this stacked in the future. Sergio Ramos and Gini Wijnaldum (and possibly Lionel Messi) only signed a 2-3 year contract with the club. In addition to this, Angel Di Maria’s and Mbappe’s contracts expire at the end of 2022. If PSG doesn’t win the Champions League this season, most of their starts will want to leave, especially Kylian Mbappe. This team is currently built for present success as PSG cannot wait any longer to win Europe’s biggest trophy in the future. The club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has done his part with the signings. Now its the players’ and coaches’ time to do their part.
