We’re exactly 19 days away from the long anticipated Qatar 22 World Cup. Many players are gaining rhythm and momentum before departing for their training camps. While others are battling injuries and are at risk of missing the tournament. Nevertheless, the show must go on, and it will definitely be a World Cup to remember.
Winners
Brazil

Brazil have all the tools to come out victorious in this competition. They have the right attitude, they have leaders on and off the pitch, quality footballers, great comradery and team spirit.
All their players know how important the World Cup is for their country. They’re the country with the most World Cup wins (five) but it’s been 20 years since they last won one.
A quality, talented and motivated team is always difficult to stop and Brazil are my favorites to win the tournament.
Dark Horses
Uruguay

The injury to Ronald Araujo doesn’t help the team. In fact, it makes them severely weaker. However, there’s still a lot of quality in this Uruguay squad and they can cause some damage throughout the tournament.
Their midfield consists of Fede Valverde, Rodrigo Bentancur, Matias Vecino and Lucas Torreira. They have the options of Darwin Nunez, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani to lead the line. The quality in their defense isn’t the greatest, however, if they work as a unit, they can punch above their weight.
Hopefully they go out to play for their teammate Araujo and have a good tournament in general.
Top Scorer
Richarlison

Though the striker isn’t having the best of seasons for Tottenham, his form and record for Brazil has been very impressive.
He’ll be fed by Vini Jr, Neymar and Raphinha/Antony throughout the tournament, so I believe that he’ll end the tournament as the top scorer.
Top Assist Provider
The German is known for his unselfishness and Germany are known to be ruthless whenever they sense that they can score many goals. Many goals scored equals more assists for Muller. Both things complement each other well and that’s why I see Muller as the top assist provider.
Best Player
Neymar

Neymar will be the main man for Brazil. He’s their main creator and he’ll have to marry his creativity and elite goal scoring ability throughout the tournament. He knows that this is his last opportunity to bring The Coupe du Monde back home for the first time since 2002.
He’s having a superb season and it’s not far fetched to say that he’ll go home with The Golden Ball come December.
Best Young Player
Pedri
The Barcelona midfielder was an integral part of Spain’s impressive performance in Euro 2020. At the age of 18, he was one of the best players in the tournament and even made the team of the tournament.
Spain are a stronger team than they were at the Euros and he’s a more mature, intelligent and overall better player than he previously was.
There will be a plethora of young, talented players on show in Qatar. However, I believe that Pedri will perform at a high level and walk away with the award.
