2022 NFL QUARTERBACK DRAFT CLASS

Kenny Pickett is my top Quarterback in this draft class

While the NFL has more quality Quarterbacks than ever before, there are still plenty of teams looking to upgrade their Quarterback position in this year’s draft. The 2022 Quarterback draft class is being labeled as weak but i believe there are some franchise guys along with some sleepers as well.

The Elite Quarterback Prospects

Two Quarterbacks stand out above the rest, Kenny Pickett from Pitt, and Matt Corral from Ole Miss. Both will be 1st round picks and can sneak into the top 10 overall. These guys are efficient passers with good mobilty. Pickett would be my top guy due to the fact that he is bigger, stronger, and slightly more accurate than Corral.

Almost Elite Quarterback Prospects

For this group, my 3rd best Quarterback would be Sam Howell out of North Carolina. He took a step back as a passer but made two steps forward as a runner. Of course, you’d rather see your Quarterback improve his passing, he is still accurate enough to earn a 1st or 2nd round selection. The 4th guy on my board is Malik Willis from Liberty. Willis is the most athletic Quarterback in the draft but needs significant improvement in his accuracy to be a franchise guy. Willis based on potential alone, should be a 1st-2nd round pick.

Quarterbacks People Are Split On

This draft consists of a lot of Quarterbacks that people are divided on. These guys ranged from the 1st to the 4th round. At 5th for me would be my sleeper Quarterback Bailey Zappe. He does lack size and elite arm strength but makes up for it with perfect accuracy. Some people think Zappe is a 4th rounder, but he makes too many NFL type throws to not be at least a 2nd round pick for me. 6th on my board would be Desmond Ridder from Cincinatti. Ridder showed tons of potential with his athleticism and arm talent. Unfortunately, his lack of competition and inconsistent accuracy is why he is a 2nd rounder instead of a 1st. The last two guys in this group are Tanner Mckee from Stanford and Carson Strong from Nevada. Mckee who is at 7th, can use another year of college experience to improve his current draft stock of a 3rd round pick. Strong the 8th rated Quarterback, is dealing with injuries, and has little mobility which is why he should be a 3rd rounder.

Best Of the Rest

7 other Quarterbacks are definitely worth a late round selection. 9-Aqeel Glass, Alabama a&m, 4th-5th round. 10-Cole Kelly, Southeast Lousanna, 4th-5th round. 11-Brock Purdy, Iowa State, 6th-7th round. 12-Chase Garbers, Cal, 6th-7th round. 13-Jack Coan, Notre Dame, 6th-7th round. 14-Anthony Brown, Oregon, 6th-7th round. 15-Chris Oladuokun, South Dakota State, 6th-7th round. 16-Dustin Crum, Kent State, 6th-7th round. Of this group, I prefer Aqeel Glass the most. He dominated the FCS with his powerful arm strength and his athleticism.
