Marcelo says Farewell Tomorrow

Real Madrid announce that their legend and most decorated player will have his farewell tomorrow.

The club’s official statement says, “Real Madrid C. F. would like to announce that tomorrow, Monday 13 June, at 1pm (CET), there will be an institutional farewell and tribute ceremony for our captain Marcelo at Real Madrid City, which will be presided over by club president Florentino PĂ©rez.” “After this event, Marcelo will address the media in the press room at Real Madrid City.”

The Brazilian left-back has six (6) La Liga titles, five (5) UCLs and Spanish Supercups. He also has four (4) Club World Cups, three (3) UEFA Super Cups and two (2) Copa Del Reys. The most decorated player in Real Madrid’s illustrious history and for most people, the greatest left-back of all time.

Thanks for all the magical moments, quality performances and leadership throughout your years here. We’re eternally grateful for you and we wish you the best of luck wherever you go.

Who played today?

Asensio and Carvajal started for Spain in their 2-0 victory over Czech Republic. Asensio recorded an assist and Carvajal put in another solid defensive and offensive performance for his national team.

Gabriel Slonina Update

The American goalkeeper looks to be heading to Stamford Bridge. Chicago Fire rejected a Real Madrid bid last week and Chelsea are now “really close” to signing the player.

The goalkeeping department is definitely a position that Los Blancos are looking to reinforce as Andriy Lunin is likely to leave the club in search of gametime. David Ospina is rumored to be at the top of Ancelotti’s list. The Italian coached Ospina at Napoli and he would like to reunite at Real. Ospina will have to be happy to play second fiddle to Courtois as he’s undroppable. The Columbian will bring more experience and flamboyancy to the dressing room.
