Real Madrid Player Ratings

Many Real Madrid players have performed at a high level while some haven’t been so convincing and their captain, Benzema, has struggled with injuries. These are Real Madrid’s player ratings so far this season:

Keepers

1. Courtois- 6.5/10

Missed a few matches through injury and has since struggled to reach his top form. His best performance this season was against Celtic in the last matchday of the UCL. Hopefully he comes back from the World Cup in top form and ready to help his team again.

13. Lunin- 8/10

Had to fill in for Tibo when he was out injured and did so with class. He has great distribution and shot stopping ability and he even kept Real’s only two clean sheets in the league.

Defenders

2. Carvajal- 7.5/10

He’s having a great start to the season. He’s not always magnificent throughout games, but he gets the job done. He had one bad performance against Rayo but it doesn’t take away from the quality he’s shown so far.

3. Militao- 8/10

Didn’t have the best start to the season as he struggled against Celta and Espanyol. However, since then, he has shown his quality in both boxes. He’s on three goals so far this season and has had some colossal defensive performances.

4. Alaba- 7/10

The Austrian has struggled in some of the matches he’s played but has also pulled out some big performances in big games.

5. Vallejo- N/A

6. Nacho- 7/10

Whenever he has featured, he has stepped up.

16. Odriozola- N/A

17. Lucas V- 6.5/10

Always a good rotational player who gives it his all whenever he plays.

22. Rudiger- 8/10

Rudiger hasn’t started many games but has stood up to be counted whenever he touches the pitch. He’s working hard to get a place in the starting XI and he’ll undeniably be rewarded very soon.

23. Mendy- 5.5/10

It has been a poor campaign so far for Mendy. Defensively, he’s been sloppy and he has provided very little offensively. Massive improvements needed if he wants to keep his place in the starting lineup for the second half of the season.

8. Kroos- 9.5

A phenomenal season from an outstanding player. He’s on route to having his best season in a Madrid shirt and with his battery being recharged during the World Cup, it can be achieved. Additionally, whenever he hasn’t played, the team struggles to control the tempo of the game which shows his importance.

10. Modric- 7.5/10

At the age of 37, he’s still crucial to Real and everything they do on the football pitch.

11. Asensio- 8/10

Carlo Ancelotti has found a new role for Marco and he’s been great whenever he’s played. His ball progression, ball carrying and shooting abilities have all been showcased at a high level.

12. Camavinga- 6.5/10

Struggled at the start of the campaign but has been returning to top form since his start against Leipzig. He’s on the plane to Qatar and will be eager to have a great World Cup and help his country to defend their title.

15. Valverde- 9/10

“El Halcon” has been one of the best players in Europe this season. His goals have stood out, but his all round game has been nothing short of class. Uruguay have a gem on their hands and will have to use him correctly if they are to do well in this World Cup.

18. Tchouameni- 8/10

Had big shoes to fill after Casemiro’s departure and has made the position his own. He’s brought a different dynamic to the team and has settled in seamlessly.

19. Ceballos- N/A

9. Benzema- 6/10

It hasn’t been a great start to the season for the talisman. He’s struggled with injuries and has shown side effects of his consistent game time last season. When he has played, he showed his class and what he brings to this team.

7. Hazard- N/A

20. Vini Jr- 7/10

All of his performances haven’t been convincing, but the output is still there. He’s being treated unfairly by opposition players, and to an extent, referees, but he continues to fight throughout the adversity.

21. Rodrygo- 7.5/10

The Brazilian has stepped up in Benzema’s absence and proved his worth to this team. Many predicted this to be his breakthrough season, and he’s on course to achieving that.

24. Mariano- N/A
