Since the day that Belichick and the Patriots parted ways, it’s been widely viewed that the former coach could go into announcing. At 72 years old he was one of the oldest coaches in the NFL. There’s only one problem with Belichick going into the media world. He doesn’t want to be part of a studio show. He’s made that abundantly clear. As of now, it appears that Belichick is set to join Omaha Productions.
Doing so, would allow Belichick to have the role that he wants. He wouldn’t be in a studio and would be able to give analysis from the comfort of his home. For those who don’t know, the Manning’s Omaha Productions produces the ManningCast during Monday Night Football. Over the past two years, the Mannings broadcast has blown up due to the originality of it.
ESPN has extended its partnership with the Manning’s through 2034. So, adding someone like Bill Belichick to Omaha Productions could be huge for the future development of the ManningCast. Though, he hasn’t ruled out returning to coaching. For now, a return to the coaching realm remains up in the air. So any deal between Belichick and the Manning’s could be a one-year deal for now.
There’s only a few teams that Belichick is interested in coaching though, so if he doesn’t get on with the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants or New York Giants, he could stay on with the Mannings.
Right now though, it appears that a TV deal is imminent for the Patriots’ legendary coach.
