The WWE has seen a lot of former Superstars return in 2023. Whether it be from injury, from contract disputes, from other promotions or even when the actors were on strike just a few months ago. It appears that another return could be on the grasp. AJ Lee had been “caught in the middle” of the controversial departure of her real-life husband, CM Punk, leading to her final match coming in the WWE a year later.

The female division has been lacking some excitement, despite WWE doing all that they can to generate. The company needs more top talent, we’ve seen a lot of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair and Bayley over the years. Nothing bad about them, but the fans want something fresh. That’s why Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky have excelled as champions so far. According to Fightful Select, AJ Lee is open to a return and the WWE is not taking it out of their cards.

In fact, there’s some interest inside the female superstars’ locker room. Some want to work with her indicating that there would be a positive reception if the two sides can work out a deal. AJ Lee had erupted as a fan favorite in her previous tenure in the WWE. She held the Divas Championship three separate times, but wasn’t there during the Women’s Revolution. She could be a huge addition with the way that the division has been elevated.

Now would be a perfect time for her to come back as well, the WWE has loads of talent that she had never had access to. She could put on great matches with any of the names above. AJ, 36, is also in the same age range (27-37) as a lot of the star talent.

While nothing is concrete as of now, it appears that a return would be positive. With Punk back in the WWE, nothing is impossible or as he likes to say “Hell Froze Over.” Something that the fans would get behind. The crowd erupted when CM Punk talked about Lee on live television.
