The New York Liberty guard couldn’t miss in the final round. She wound up scoring 37 points and missing just two shots.

In the first round of the event, she wound up scoring 26 points but topped that in the final. Though, former Liberty teammate Sami Whitcomb (Seattle) bested her with 28 in the first round. So, the first mark set by Ionescu had proved not to be enough. She needed to up her game and that’s exactly what she did. The elite shooting performance set the record for most points (37) in a single round in both the NBA and WNBA.

Over the course of the last decade, both the NBA and WNBA has been blessed with incredible performances. From the masterpieces of the Splash Brothers to Damian Lillard to Karl-Anthony Towns showing us why he’s the best three-point shooting big. The performances by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both set the all-time single-round scoring records.

The bid for anyone else to win the WNBA Three-Point Contest was over, by the time Sabrina Ionescu finished the second rack. The 37 points topped the 30 by Allie Quigley last season. As well as the 31 set by Curry and Tyrese Haliburton in the NBA.
