In what could have been a really good season, the 49ers finished last in the NFC West due to one thing and one thing only. Injuries. Injuries plagued this team like it was the 1920’s. They lost their starting QB for most the season, arguably the best DE in the league, key players from their secondary, skill positions and O-line as well. The 49ers were just very unlucky last season. Will it keep on going into next season? Let’s take a look.
The 49ers did a lot of extensions and resigning current players but also added players like WR Mohamed Sanu, WR Marquise Lee, and C Alex Mack. The biggest addition however was QB Trey Lance, the 3rd overall pick in the draft. I think the main goal for San Fransisco this offseason was to get players healthy again.
The San Fransisco 49ers have a pretty evenly mixed schedule of good and bad teams, giving them the ability to adjust when they do lose a game. I think the 49ers will finish 3rd in the NFC West with a 10-7 record. This secures them the 7th seed in the NFC but I see them having a first round exit. I think that Trey Lance will become the starter after week 4 and perform very well for a Rookie.
MVP: Nick Bosa – When healthy, Nick Bosa is the best DE in the league. The big question is if he will be able to perform like his old self coming back from the ACL Tear. I think he will be able to do that. Bosa will produce 12+ sacks next season and put himself in the conversation for league DPOY.
OPOY: George Kittle – The second best TE in the league deserves to be the OPOY for their team. I think Kittle will have a comeback player of the year type season, reaching 10+ TDs.
DPOY: Fred Warner – Fred Warner will continue his great play from last season by having another Pro Bowl season, leading his team in Tackles.
