With the release of the NFL Schedule for the 2022 season, It is also the prime time for people to breakdown each teams games and start throwing predictions out there. We are no different at Fantom Sports, and I am bringing you a breakdown of the Seahawks schedule.

Week 1: Vs Broncos 09/12 5:15pm PT

This is easily the biggest game of the season for the Hawks. The return of Russ to Seattle right off the bat in Primetime is a great close to the first week of the season. How will the Hawks do without Russ or Bobby Wagner to lead them? I have more hope in Drew Lock than probably most people do, and I think a healthy Carson, Penny, along with Walker III and an improved O-line can help Lock set up the pass game to DK and Lockett. The defense is where I have questions. I think this will be a close game but Russ will get his revenge on Primetime and hand the Hawks their first loss of the season.

Week 2: At 49ers 09/18 1:05pm PT

Coming off a loss going to face a divisional rival can be hard… and it will be. Assuming the 49ers have Deebo and either Jimmy G or Trey Lance can play to a quality level, the 49ers will walk away with the win here but If the 49ers QB doesn’t play well, the Seahawks defense will be better than most think and could keep the Hawks in the game long enough to pull something out. Niners get it done though.

Week 3: Vs Falcons 09/25 1:25pm PT

This is a falcons team that is looking to make any sort of step forward from the last couple years, and with Kyle Pitts and Desmond Ridder, they might be able to. While I prefer Marcus Mariota this season, I have a feeling the Falcons will give in and start Ridder at some point. I think the Hawks can handle their business regardless of who is behind Center for Atlanta.

Week 4: Vs Lions 10/02 10am PT

The Lions are a very interesting team this year after having a good draft. They upgraded their receiving core and bolstered up their defense a little bit, however I don’t think they have hit that threshold yet of being a solid competing team, but they are close. Hawks take this one at home.

Week 5: At Saints 10/09 10am PT

While I am hopeful for what they Seahawks have built on their roster, I do not think it is complete enough to be a solid competing team. If Winston is back to his 30 TD self (albeit he also threw 30 INT) the Saints will have no problem walking out of their home stadium winners.

Week 6: Vs Cardinals 10/16 1:05pm PT

This is one of those games that is always close no matter how bad one of the teams is. If the Cardinals can figure out the whole Kyler Murray situation and he is happy, the Cardinals will win. If there is any outside drama going on still at this point, the Cards have much bigger problems than winning Football games.

Week 7: At Chargers 10/23 1:25pm PT

The Chargers were already really good, and then they got better. I see them as a Super Bowl caliber team and well, the Hawks aren’t. Chargers win.

Week 8: Vs Giants 10/30 1:25pm PT

This is another one of those toss up games for me. The Giants improved and the Hawks got worse, but does that automatically mean the Giants passed the Hawks? I don’t think so. I’m out on Daniel Jones. Hawks W

Week 9: At Cardinals 11/06 1:05pm PT

The same thing goes here as it does for the week 6 matchup. I think whoever lost the other one will win this one. Cards win in week 6. Hawks win week 9.

Week 10: Vs Buccaneers 11/13 6:30am PT

The first NFL game to be played in Germany. It stinks that the Hawks are going all the way to Germany to lose to Tom Brady. I think the Bucs are the better team all the way around. It will be just too much for the Hawks to handle. Brady will pick them apart on the defensive side of the ball.

Week 11: BYE

Week 12: Vs Raiders 11/27 1:05pm PT

The Davante Adams trade really helped bolster this team into serious playoff run contention, and I think it will help propel them over the Hawks. I don’t see a way for the Hawks to defend both Waller and Adams very well, even enough to stay in the game if the offense is firing on all cylinders.

Week 13: At Rams 12/04 1:05pm PT

This will be the Seahawks first stab at the defending champs, and it will be all Rams this go around. Being at Sofi the Hawks will have a hard time doing anything against the stellar defense they have, and Bobby Wagner will get his chance at blood on his old team.

Week 14: Vs Panthers 12/11 1:25pm PT

This is a very winnable game for the Seahawks. I think the Panthers have too many question marks through their roster, and CMC will probably be injured for this game…

Week 15: vs 49ers 12/15 5:15pm PT

Rematch from week 2, the 49ers will come in a lot more knowledgable about who their QB is and they should have a good game. Still close as its a divisional game, but I think the 49ers have too much talent on both sides of the ball to lose this one.

Week 16: At Chiefs 12/24 10am PT

I don’t really know what to say here other than the Chiefs are winning. I do not see a way the Seahawks can pull this game out. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are too much to handle by themselves.

Week 17: Vs Jets 1/1 1:05pm PT

This Jets team, much like the Lions, are very improved this season. I still think they will need a season to really form a team good enough to compete. Unless something clicks and they get it together for the end of the season.

Week 18: Vs Rams TBD

I don’t think much will change here as far as the outcome of the game, but I do think that playing at home will help keep it closer for longer. Rams still win though.

The Hawks are at a disadvantage before they even play any games this season. They have to travel well over 20,000 miles and change time zones 34 times this season, highest in the league for both. Factor that with the loss of your two biggest leaders, and it will make for a not so pretty season. I don’t think Drew Lock is the long term solution, however I do not think he is as bad as people say. I think, and hope, that he can prove a lot of haters wrong this season, and maybe, just maybe, pull off a few upsets.
