The NHL season has only been going one for a little under two weeks now, yet there is one team that looks like a sneaky Stanley Cup pick for me. The Dallas Stars have caught my attention early this season, I jumped on it before the number drops like crazy if they continue to win.
Dallas Stars Above Average Stats
The Dallas Stars have started this season 4-0 up to this point. They are above average in almost every NHL statistic you can find.
The Stars have a points percentage of .900, league average is .541. Shooting percentage is 14.5% while the league averages 10.2%.
Dallas has a power play percentage also above the average of 20.64%, they average 35.29%. On the defensive end they have a save percentage slightly higher than the league average of .898, they sit at .951.
The Aggressive Dallas Stars
In most defensive stats such as saves, and shots against; at first glance you would think the Stars were behind league average.
These stats show the aggressiveness the Stars play with. They keep the puck on their opponents side of the floor. They score a lot and they score fast.
Once the opposition crosses to their side of the ice, their defense puts the clamps on them. Dallas plays with bullying physical presence on the defensive end.
I Know it is Early…
I know it is early, yet, I am all over this Dallas Stars team to make a strong run this NHL season. Sometimes you get so excited and place a small wager on the Dallas Stars to win the 2022-23 Stanley Cup. Speaking for myself of coarse.
In the sport of hockey anything can happen on any given night, this will be a fun season jumping on the Stars band wagon.
