The Phoenix Suns will look to even the series on the road against the Timberwolves after a Game 1 blowout. The Suns received quite the wakeup call following their 25-point loss in Minnesota. There were two major reasons for their enormous defeat.
What Went Wrong for The Suns?
Firstly, no team will win after getting outrebounded 52-28 on the glass. That disparity is a big indicator of a total lack of effort on the floor. Jusuf Nurkic finished with an abysmal four rebounds in 27 minutes. If the Suns want a chance to take home court advantage, it starts by matching the energy of the Timberwolves.
Additionally, Kevin Durant was the only player who showed up on the offensive end with 31 points. As for the rest of the big three, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker combined for just 33 points. We all know KD is going to get his 25+ every night, but one of Beal or Booker needs to get going for the Suns to compete.

Moreover, Phoenix could be undermanned heading into Game 2 with the status of Grayson Allen up in the air. Allen was 0/3 from the field in Game 1, but his impact can’t be overlooked. The Suns will miss his shooting ability on the floor if he doesn’t play.
Despite that, I think this game will be much more competitive than the former. This Suns team is too experienced to fall flat twice. It all comes down to effort, and with the added motivation for Beal, Booker, and KD, I’m taking the Suns to win Game 2.
