Major League Baseball launched an investigation into Alex Cora for his comments on Saturday. According to Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com, the Red Sox coach won’t be suspended.

The comments that sparked the investigation indicated that the Red Sox attempted to throw at Aaron Judge on purpose.

“I felt like the first at-bat, he hit him on purpose,” said Cora (via NESN). “He doesn’t wanna face him, that’s the bottom line. He told us with the intentional walk that the first at-bat he hit him. We’ll leave it at that. After that, he had bases loaded and had to face him.”

Nothing happened between the two teams the next day. Cora later came out and said that “the team had their chance.” In the sixth inning of the contest on Saturday, Brayan Bello faced Aaron Judge in the sixth inning. He threw behind his knees, missing the Yankees slugger. Cora appeared to admit that was intentional the next day.

“It was closed [Saturday] around the sixth inning. We had our chance. It didn’t happen.”

The Yankees are currently in first place in the AL East with the Red Sox fighting for the last wild card spot. Tensions run high when these two teams get together. Apparently after the game, Cora spoke with Judge. Though, the Yankees slugger declined to discuss much of that conversation.

“You play this game for a while, things like that happen,” Judge said after homering in a Yankees win on Sunday in The Bronx. “I know they’re upset. I think three of their guys got hit that day. I think they’re just protecting their players. Something’s gotta happen. That’s the way this game gets policed and has been policed for 100 years.

Do you think Alex Cora should serve a suspension?
