After a wild and entertaining AL/NL wildcard weekend, starting Tuesday is the AL/NL DS. The Division Series are set;
- Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies
- Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres
- Houston Astros vs Seattle Mariners
- New York Yankees vs Cleveland Guardians
I have bets and predictions on all four of these Division Series.
Division Series Predictions:
Atlanta Braves vs Philadelphia Phillies
The Atlanta Braves have almost been unbeatable the second half. The Phillies however have been one of the teams able to compete with Atlanta. The Braves are 11-8 in 2022 against the Phillies.
With the Braves being rested for this series, I am giving them even more of an edge. The bet I am taking for this series is a bit risky yet holds a lot of value.
Give me the Braves winning this series 3-1 (+325). I think the Phillies will fall the first two games, and bounce back making the series 2-1 going into game 4. Where the series will end.
Los Angeles Dodgers vs San Diego Padres
The Padres seem to have gotten some momentum beating the Mets in bullying fashion. However in the in Division Series, the LA Dodgers are the big brother the Padres do not want to see.
The Padres and Dodgers have an intense rivalry that over the last two seasons has been heating up. The Padres are going to come into this Division Series motivated to take LA down.
With that being said, I will take the overs in most of these games individually. On the series however give me the series going Over 4.5 games (+165). If you want to sweeten the suspense, take Dodgers to win 3-2 (+350) as well.
Houston Astros vs Seattle Mariners
As hot as the Miracle Mariners are this postseason, they are about to run into a different animal in the Houston Astros. The beauty of baseball is anything can happen, however with all of the experience on the Stros I have to go with them.
My gut wants to take the Mariners to get lucky, yet my head will not allow that too happen.
I have taken Houston to win 3-1 (+300).
Mariners and Astros being division foes are familiar with each other. Astros have an edge of 12-7 against Seattle on the 2022 season.
New York Yankees vs Cleveland Guardians
The New York Yankees in 2022 have been the definition dysfunctional reality tv. The Cleveland Guardians on the other hand have been the definition of consistent.
This is the only Division Series in which I am taking the underdog. I do not see the Guardians going cold as they produce runs in multiple ways. Where as the Yankees only production seems to come from number 99.
Give me the Guardians to win the series (+165).
