1. Erling Haaland
This guy is a robot. So far, he has 12 goals in 7 matches in all competitions. Since his move, he’s broken records in the Prem and in the Champions League. In the UCL, he scored the most goals (25) after 20 games. Previous holders Ruu van Nistelrooy and Spaniard Roberto Soldado both had 16 after their first 20 matches in the competition. The Norwegian is also the first player in Premier League History to score nine goals in his first 5 games.
If he continues at this rate, he’ll easily break Salah’s record of 32 goals in 38 games which will definitely see Man City defend their Premier League title.
2. Aleksandar Mitrovic
There were many doubts about Mitrović coming into this season. People questioned his ability to elevate his game and bring it over into the Prem. He put the world on notice in his first game back with a brace against Liverpool. Since then, he has 4 goals in 5 games. He’s a poacher, but he’s shown that he also has superb hold up play.
It’ll be interesting to see if his form continues but if Fulham are to stay up this season, he’ll be crucial to their success.
3. Ivan Toney
The English striker has seven (7) goal contributions in 6 games. He had a great 2021/22 campaign and he’s started off this one with a bang. Don’t be surprised if Gareth Southgate calls him up to the England squad for the upcoming international break and even the World Cup. He knows that there’s a chance that he’ll go to the World Cup so he’s fighting for his spot on the plane to Qatar.
