We have breaking news that Urban Meyer is officially out as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. With Meyer as the head coach, the Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-11.
Some may have expected this after everything that has happened with Meyer in the NFL this season and where the team is at.
Urban Meyer before the season signed a six-year contract. The first-year NFL head coach had a rocky first year and the announcement has come roughly nine hours after the latest reported issue with former Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo:
“I’m in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back,” Lambo said. “… Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey Dips–t, make your f–king kicks!’ And kicks me in the leg.”
After the release of this information, and an embarrassing 20-0 loss on Sunday, Meyer dug a hole that he couldn’t get out of.
Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell will serve as the interim head coach with four weeks remaining.
Jaguars’ owner Shad Khan: “After deliberation over many weeks and a thorough analysis of the entirety of Urban’s tenure with our team, I am bitterly disappointed to arrive at the conclusion that an immediate change is imperative for everyone….”
This is breaking news.
More to come.
