Kemba Walker and the New York Knicks will try get back within a game of the 10th spot in a matchup against the Washington Wizards Thursday night. Washington is coming off one of their best wins of the season against the Utah Jazz, 109-103. While New York got back on track with a win against the Detroit Pistons, 105-91. This will be the first matchup of the season for Walker and Knicks against the Wizards.
Keys to Knicks Getting Win
Don’t Allow 100+ Points
When you look at the New York Knicks season so far, the Knicks have been playing their brand of basketball like last season when they got the fourth seed in the eastern conference. In the Knicks’ 14 wins, they allow 101.4 points per game. While in the Knicks’ 17 losses, they allow 111.4 points per game. No question, the Knicks are a brand known for their defense and playing physical defense. Washington’s record when scoring above 100 points is 14-7.
Get Lead Before Fourth Quarter
The main reason why the Washington Wizards have gotten a good start this season is because of Bradley Beal. Beal has 23.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.9 assists so far this season. But Beal is out for tonight’s because he has entered NBA’s protocols. If the Knicks can get the lead before the fourth, they can get the win and play with more swag.
Give More Minutes to Mitchell Robinson
Last Tuesday against Detroit, Robinson boosted the Knicks’ need to get a must-win against the Pistons. Robinson got a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. While starting center Nerlens Noel got 2 points and three rebounds in 23 minutes. Robinson can be the difference mixer on offense with the pick-and-roll and defense with his shot-blocking ability.
Game Prediction
This game will be close and tight all night long. Kemba Walker will find a way to lead the struggling Knicks to a win before their showdown on Christmas against Atlanta. No Beal means the Knicks should have no problem tonight. The last time Robinson got 30 minutes in a game, he got 17 points and nine rebounds, shooting 100% from the field in a win against Houston one week ago.
