Welcome back to another recap of the Washington Commanders Training Camp. This is the twelfth day of camp and it got interesting. Let’s just get right into it.
Day 12 Notes:
- Biggest news of the day was Ron Rivera relieving defensive line coach Sam Mills III of his duties. Mills was a long time assistant on Ron Rivera’s staff. Defensive line assistant Jeff Zgonina will take over as the defensive line coach.
- Interestingly enough, Warren Sapp returned to Ashburn. Given the news, I don’t believe it’s any coincidence that Sapp and Ryan Kerrigan have spent significant time in Ashburn and around the defensive line.
- Carson Wentz had by far his best day of camp. Take that, you doubters.
- It’s going to be difficult to keep Brian Robinson Jr. off the field. Also going to be difficult to keep Jaret Patterson off the roster.
- The bottom tier of receivers has become extremely competitive. Dax Milne, Kelvin Harmon, Alex Erickson, and Marken Michel have all put in solid days.
- Armani Rodgers. He has been on fire recently.

Here’s some footage and observations from Day 12 from the local media:
That’s a wrap for day twelve! Definitely one hell of a day. Carson Wentz showed out, so did many others. I’m going to go ahead and start campaigning for either Warren Sapp and/or Ryan Kerrigan to be our defensive line coach or assistant defensive line coach. Stay tuned for more articles like this one after the Commanders next practice!
