Welcome to Commanders training camp day six! Today is very exciting! Why you ask? The players will have full pads on and there will be contact. It is the closest thing to live game-action that we have in the offseason. It also means that we get to see some very important positions and where they are really at. Linebackers, tight ends, offensive and defensive lineman, running backs, safeties, they all benefit from contact and it gives us a more realistic look at how players at these positions are performing. Let’s get into it!
Day 6 Notes:
- Pads. Are. On. Bring on the contact (and avoid injuries)
- The quarterbacks got back on track today after a down day yesterday.
- The running backs had a good day finding and hitting holes.
- David Mayo took some first team reps with Jamin Davis. Not sure what that’s about.
- Cole Turner and Curtis Hodges. Yeah, they’re good. Gonna be hard keeping Hodges off the roster.
- Samuel on the side field, again.
- Gibson did participate in 11-on-11s surprisingly enough.
- Kendall Fuller is having an excellent camp.
- I’m a big Jarett Patterson fan and I get excited when I hear good things. I heard good things today.
Training Camp Day 6
Here’s some footage and observations from Day 6 from the local media:
That’s a wrap for day six! Good to see these guys hitting again. I’m feeling really good about the tight end room right now. Granted, it’s only training camp, but I’m hoping these guys can go show out in the preseason. Hopefully, tomorrow we can avoid injuries from all players. Just because they’re on the fringe of the 90 man roster doesn’t mean they don’t mean anything. Stay tuned for more articles like this one after the Commanders next practice!
