The Washington Football Team will go in with house money against the Las Vegas Raiders. The WFT are on fire after a three-game winning streak, and hope to continue building off of that. In their wake, they defeated the Buccaneers, the Panthers, and the Seahawks to put them in the 7th seed for the NFC playoff race. A win would advance their streak to four wins in a row, but the Raiders are a tough opponent.
The Raiders are coming off a thrilling win against the Cowboys that went to overtime, on Thanksgiving. The Raiders have four more days of rest and preparation than the WFT, since the Raiders played on a Thursday and the WFT played on a Monday. The team has less time to prepare for their game, but that is how it goes in the NFL. Both teams are hungry for a win and look to keep their playoff hopes alive.
WFT Keys to the Game
The WFT secondary will need to find a way to slow down Derek Carr. The Raiders are undefeated this season when Derek Carr passes for 300 or more yards. If the defense can slow the Raiders offense down enough, then Taylor Heinicke can keep them in the game. A hard fought game is to be expected by both teams, but if the WFT keeps playing how they have been the last three games, then they have a great shot at winning.
Watching the WFT, it feels like they have found themselves as a team. The team started clicking in their win against the Bucs, and they have shown no signs of slowing down since. The Raiders better be careful because the Football Team is coming to town. Taylor Heinicke and Terry McLaurin are one of the most underrated QB and WR matchups in the league. They may prove to be too much to handle for the Raiders.
WFT is a 1 point underdog, and has a 38% chance of winning according to ESPN’s FPI. The game will be played at 4:05 p.m. EST on Fox. Prediction: The WFT scrapes by the Raiders to win their fourth game in a row.
