The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers, helmed by a combination of Kenny Pickett and Mitchell Trubisky, this past Sunday. The final score was 20-18, with Tampa Bay failing to muster much on the offensive at times. However, when combined with other drama this past offseason, this loss and outburst on the sidelines has everyone asking: what is happening with Tom Brady?
Tom Brady Yells at his Teammates
This past weekend, camera crews caught Tom Brady yelling at his offensive line during their loss to the Steelers. The video can be seen here:
So, Tom Brady doesn’t practice on Wednesdays, and he skipped Friday’s practice this week to attend Robert Kraft’s wedding. Kraft is the owner of the New England Patriots, whom Tom Brady has still stayed close to, despite the pair’s split recently. Additionally, his rumored split from wife, Giselle, may be the cause for extracurricular yelling this season, at least, according to speculation from fans and media.
Needless to say, it isn’t a good look for the future hall of Famer to chastise his teammates for the public’s viewing when his list of scrutiny leading into this game is quite considerable, to say the least. For example, he not only skipped practice Friday to attend Kraft’s wedding, but he also missed Wednesday’s practice as well. All in all, that puts us at two days missed heading into this week’s contest and then having the audacity to yell at his cohorts for their perceived, or real, mistakes. Also, he flew to the stadium solo, as he was flying in from New York City from the previously mentioned festivity.
So far this season, Brady has posted 1,652 yards this season, combined with eight touchdowns to only one interception. Compared to the six-game mark of last season where had 1,869 yards and seventeen touchdowns, with only three interceptions. The stats here were used by the great Pro Football Reference.
Brady Badly Bruised
Suffice it to say, the embattled QB has taken a lot of beatings over his career. However, the recent ones may be cause for concern, as father time seems to be catching up with the ageless wonder. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sitting at a 3-3 record so far, and have yet to answer questions raised by critics, myself included. The expectations heading into this campaign were of a winning record, but not at the current .500 one. With the Rams in dismay, the Packers on the back foot, and the NFC askew, the opportunity is there for the taking. The Bucs could make a repeat playoff appearance, however, whether it is in dominating fashion or simply by statistical mercy, is up for them to decide.
In conclusion, his alienation from the team and outbursts on the field are starting to become major causes for concern. Seemingly, it looks like he should have stayed retired. Whether that was to save rumored marital issues or to save face for his legacy in the history books, this season’s bumps are under the audience’s microscope. Lastly, let’s see what happens next.
