The World Cup is on to the knockout stages. Here are five World Cup player investments based on performance as well as future outlook, including their club teams and potential transfers.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaquiri’s stock is up and rising. He is the only player to join Messi and Ronaldo in scoring at the last three World Cups. He has currently led Switzerland out of the group stage and they will play Portugal on Tuesday. Make your investment before the match because with everything on the line the Swiss will heavily rely on him.

Shaqiri plays his club football for Chicago Fire FC in the MLS. He is the next international star to make the move to the states. Currently trading at $4.48 Shaqiri is up three percent. With a strong World Cup, he could potentially seal a move back to Europe after his impressive performances. Or, he could keep up his momentum and have a big season for Chicago. This could make him a great short-term option especially if the Swiss advance to the quarter-finals or beyond.

Tyler Adams

Everyone calls Christian Pulisic Captain America, but Team USA’s actual captain is Tyler Adams. Adams had a fantastic World Cup. He dominated for the United States clogging up the middle of the pitch and helping turn quickly after gaining possession. Thus allowing the USA to counterattack quickly. His performances have caught everyone’s attention.

Adams just joined Leeds United FC in the Premier League this summer from Red Bull Leipzig so it would take an astronomical offer to pry him away with four years left on his contract. Adams is still very undervalued trading at $2.45 up only .32%. Expect big clubs to inquire about the young American. Even if he doesn’t leave this window or the next, he is a great long-term investment. It will only be a matter of time before he joins a top club. Also with the USA hosting the next World Cup, he will be a major focus for the next four years.

Hakim Ziyech

Hakim Ziyech is thriving at the World Cup for Morocco. He is a great option to invest in before his round of sixteen match against Spain. “The Wizard” as Chelsea fans call him has a magical left foot and with a goal and an assist so far has been critical to Morocco’s advancing.

Ziyech is currently not being used by new Chelsea Manager Graham Potter. However, a January move is in the works. He appears to be headed to AC Milan to join the Italian Champions after the World Cup. This move would revitalize his career and give him much more playing opportunities. He is currently trading at $6.05 up four percent. Expect that to continue going up. Invest now before the game Tuesday and expect his value to go higher after a January transfer to Serie A.

Marcus Rashford

There are almost half-a-dozen English names that could be listed as good World Cup player investments but Rashford is leading England in goals with only one start. He is tied for second in the golden boot race and has the least minutes played. In his current form, the Manchester United product should stay in the race, his obstacle will be opportunities because of all of England’s Talent. But, having played his way into the lineup expect a busy performance for him in the Round of Sixteen. If Rashford can stay in the golden boot chase his value will go up.

Rashford is another good long-term play. Currently trading at $5.18 his stock is up fourteen percent. That should only be the beginning.  Manchester United just cut ties with Ronaldo freeing up Rashford for more chances to score goals and be creative on the ball. With new manager Eric Ten Hagg finally finding some traction in the Premier League expect Marcus Rashford to reap the benefits.

Denzel Dumfries

Denzel Dumfries is having a breakout World Cup for the Netherlands. He scored a late goal vs the USA in the Round of Sixteen. Dumfries is also tied for the team lead in assists with two. He is making a name for himself in this world as a standout performer playing on the right. A traditional right back, he is more of a midfielder in the Dutch system and this has allowed him to get forward to score and provide assists.

Dumfries is another good long-term play. While based out of Inter Milan in Serie A he has increased his reputation. and a premier league move may be on the horizon. Clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham are circling. Currently trading at $4.61 he is up twenty-four percent. You might think you missed your window after his recent performances. However, in his current form and with a move to the Premier League on the horizon expect his value to continue to increase making him one of the best World Cup player investments.
