Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, also known as TNA, announced Thursday afternoon that they have agreed to a multi-year partnership with the WWE. This partnership will allow talent from TNA and WWE’s developmental brand, NXT, to appear across weekly programming as well as pay per views/premium live events in both companies.

2024 saw a lot of crossover between the two brands as then-reigning TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace entered the Royal Rumble back in January. Later in the year, Grace would return to challenge NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at NXT’s ‘Battleground’ PLE. Other TNA talent would feature on NXT programming including Joe Hendry, who challenged Ethan Page for the NXT Championship at ‘No Mercy’ and The Rascalz. And in return, NXT stars also featured on TNA iMPACT! including the No Quarter Catch Crew, Gallus and Wendy Choo.

“We look forward to growing and evolving out partnership with TNA Wrestling and its outstanding group of athletes by creating new opportunities to further the development of our talent and to elevate the viewer experience at home,” said WWE’s Senior VP of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels.

TNA was founded in 2002 by Jeff Jarrett serving as a new competitor in the professional wrestling market following the dissolution of World Championship Wrestling. It would serve as the second-largest wrestling promotion in the United States throughout the 2000s and early 2010s with many free agents and wrestling legends finding their way to TNA, including Sting, Hulk Hogan, Kurt Angle, The Hardy Boyz, and AJ Styles.

As part of this announcement, TNA Wrestling also included the NXT logo in their promotional video and flyer for their upcoming pay per view event ‘Genesis’ on Sunday, January 19.

What do you expect with this new partnership, and who do you want to see appear on iMPACT! or NXT?
