The four-time NFL MVP and 2011 Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers intends to play for the New York Jets in 2023.

“I made it clear my intention was to play for the New York Jets,” Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show.

In his time in Green Bay, Rodgers threw for 59,055 passing yards and 475 passing touchdowns and will look to add to those totals in his new home in New York.

History repeated itself as 15 years ago, former Packers quarterback Brett Favre was traded to the Jets, and Rodgers took over as the Packers quarterback. Now Jordan Love will be the 2023 Packers starting quarterback, as Rodgers will lead the Jets’ offense.

“Jordan (Love) is going to be a great player, he’s a great kid, they got a good young team,” Rodgers said.

Around Rodgers is second-year running back Breece Hall and offensive rookie of the year Garrett Wilson. On the defensive side, the Jets have one of the most talented units led by defensive rookie of the year Sauce Gardner and lineman Quinnen Williams.

The Jets immediately become Super Bowl contenders by acquiring their new quarterback after dealing with several quarterback issues in 2022. With the addition of Aaron Rodgers, the Jets will likely sign other veterans to build around a win-now team to go all-in for the 2023 season. Meanwhile, the Packers will begin the Love era and build around their 2020 first-round pick to contend in the future.
