Rarely does lightning strike twice. For the Raiders it has, Antonio Pierce deserves to be the Raiders head coach moving forward after turning them around due to the dumpster fire left by Josh McDaniels.

Over the past 10 years, the Raiders have not had good luck at finding a long-term head coach. However, Pierce has landed in their lap and they cannot afford to mess up again.

Legendary Career for Pierce

Pierce had a career that many kids dreamed of having. From being a Super Bowl Champion to now coaching the team you grew up watching is an opportunity of a lifetime.

In addition to winning a Super Bowl with the New York Giants, Pierce had a total of 732 tackles, 8 sacks, 7 interceptions, and 8 forced fumbles. (via Raiders.com)

However Pierce isn’t just known for helping lead an all-time great defense to a Super Bowl Championship, he’s known for his ability to lead his teammates and do whatever it took for the team to win every week. He rightfully earned the right to be named a captain for the Giants.

Perfect Fit for the Raiders

Pierce is the perfect example for being a head coach in the NFL, especially for the Raider nation. The Raiders are known for bringing it to their opponents and not being afraid to be physical.

Before Pierce was hired to be the interim head coach, the Raiders were 6-11 last year and started 2023 with a 3-5 record. The Raiders looked like they gave up, but Pierce didn’t let them.

Since Pierce became the head coach the Raiders players have found a new energy that has led them into the mix for the playoffs all of sudden. With a 4-3 record since, the Raiders found themselves at a 7-8 record.

In addition, the Raiders defense has gotten better by scoring 4 touchdowns in each of the last 4 quarters they have played.

Pierce made a statement to solidify that he should be the guy after winning on Christmas against their division rivals the Kansas City Chiefs who beat them the past for 6 straight years.

There is no doubt in my eyes that Antonio Pierce deserves to be the next head coach moving forward as he captivated the whole organization.
