Actor and Songwriter Ice Cube is a known Raiders fan. One of the biggest stories regarding the Raiders right now, happens to be on who their next coach will be. Many reports state that it should be Interim HC Antonio Pierce and Ice Cube approved.

O’Shea Jackson went on the Pat McAfee show to discuss the Raiders coaching vacancy.

“I think we need to hire AP,” Cube stated. “When it comes to the NFL, the athletes are pretty even at the end of the day. You need somebody that the players listen to, who they’ll play for, run through a brick wall for. When you find that, you can’t let it go. The Raiders have that in AP. They really want to play for that guy.”

It’s been said that the Raiders focused on hiring Pierce as the coach, even though they have interviewed other candidates. He has done everything that the Raiders asked of him and more. He has been a leader for the players and the other coaches. Under his leadership, the Raiders finished 5-4 and were competitive in every game. They had some impressive wins over teams such as the Los Angeles Chargers (63-21), New York Giants (30-6) and the Kansas City Chiefs (20-14).

The Raiders finished the season with an 8-9 record, which was good enough for a second-place finish in the AFC. That record displays some growth with it being two games better than the year prior. What’s even more impressive about Pierce, is this is his first time being the “head coach” since he left Long Beach Poly in 2017.

The Raiders are continuing to search for other candidates. However, it does appear that Antonio Pierce is the leading candidate for the position and the “President of Raider Nation” Ice Cube approves.
