Will Bam Adebayo Level Up to a Superstar Next Season?

Since acquiring superstar Jimmy Butler in 2019, the Miami Heat have consistently been one of the best two-way teams in the league. Butler joined forces with defensive phenom Bam Adebayo to form a tandem that can stretch the floor 94 feet. These two have played the best basketball of their careers in Miami, and nothing is set to change for next season.

Adebayo, in particular, could drastically improve throughout the season. He is constantly expanding his offensive skill set, and his mid-range improved significantly over the years. With a tight handle and a dominant frame, a prayer is the only answer to slowing him down.

With Adebayo continuously prospering professionally, next season could be a superstar campaign. There are rumors the coaching staff will shift him to power forward, which essentially increases his capacity to attempt three-pointers and extended jumpers.

Bam Adebayo will finish as a top-ten player next season if he shoots relatively well from long distance.

Each year that passes, Bam Adebayo proves to the Miami Heat organization why he is a franchise star. The 2024 Olympics began, and Adebayo wasted no time teasing fans with a potential three-point shot.

The former Kentucky Wildcat shot 33.3% from beyond the arc through six Olympic matches. While this number may seem below average, fans must consider his expectations on Team USA. The majority of minutes were being fed to NBA legends like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant. This forced Adebayo into a ‘stay-ready’ role off the bench.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra could address the big man vacancy during training camp. Two-way center Thomas Bryant will be fully healthy, and backup big Kal’el Ware will crush expectations off the bench. This leaves an open void for Adebayo to fill in the starting rotation.

If the 27-year-old Center enters training camp with a formidable three-point jumper, he will inevitably win the trust of Spoelstra and the coaching staff. He is currently a three-time all-star with five all-defensive selections. He could become an unquestionable superstar by adapting as a scorer on all three levels.
