After the May 27 episode of Monday Night Raw, it was learned Becky Lynch has not re-signed a new deal with the WWE and she will be taking a hiatus. Heading into WWE Raw on Monday Night, it was reported that Lynch’s deal would expire on June 1. Lynch dropped her title over the weekend to Liv Morgan at the King and Queen Of The Ring premium live event. Then once again lost her title rematch in a steel cage match against Morgan. Many rumors are swirling around about the future of Lynch and what is next in her WWE career.

Monday Night Raw Loss

Lynch and Morgan had a rematch on Monday Night for the WWE Woman’s World heavy title. After the steel cage match on Monday night Lynch remained seated in the middle of the ring. It was to sell her just losing the match. But she did so knowing her actions would also be viewed in relation to her WWE contract expiring. Evidence of such were the fans who started a “Thank You Becky” chant shortly before she blew the crowd a kiss. Once the show went off the air, Lynch said her goodbyes as she waved to fans during an emotional moment.

Becky Lynch Next Move

Lynch’s next move isn’t entirely clear. Reports are that she has signed a contract extension with the WWE and she will be taking a hiatus. According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, “She is not, according to what she’s telling people in WWE, going to AEW imminently. Instead, multiple sources with insights into her situation indicate she is in fact taking a hiatus. It is unknown for the reasoning behind the hiatus. No one knows if it’s over frustration over a contract offer from the WWE or if Lynch just wants time at home away from the grind and hustle.

Becky Lynch Will Return to WWE

One source who Keller describes as a “colleague” of Lynch’s, said what most people believe. Which is that Lynch will eventually be back in WWE. This person cites the fact that Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins is a full-time member of WWE. It is reported that Rollins has recently signed a big money deal himself. Right now, however, the source says Lynch’s body and mind could use a break for a while. Lynch has been a workhorse for the Company since she returned in 2021 from giving birth to her daughter.

AEW Possibility

As stated earlier Lynch needs a break and it may not be a bad marketing strategy. Many wrestling fans will grow tired of a talent always at the top of the card for so long. Along with a break, a change of scenery may not be a bad idea for her either. With rumors swirling Lynch could end up in AEW at some point. That type of move could further her “The Man” Persona. However, it is said that Lynch has given little indication of her wrestling elsewhere other than the WWE. It is also important to note that AEW owner Tony Khan might use some of his war chest to sign to Lynch. If there is a possibility Khan will explore every avenue. This will remain a topic of conversation within the wrestling world until she has a new deal with WWE.
