Kansas State (9-3) will take on TCU (12-0) Saturday, December 3rd at 12pm eastern for the Big 12 Championship. The game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It’s the 17th time in their history, with the series tied at 8-8. Since beginning Big 12 play in 2012, TCU is 5-6 vs. Kansas State. Last time these two played, TCU would storm back from a huge deficit to win. What will happen in round two of this matchup? Here are some things to look for and forward to.

TCU

TCUs offense comes in as one of the most explosive in college football. Kendre Miller has scored at least once in every game this season so far for TCU. Max Duggan has looked impressive ever since the Colorado game. Quentin Johnston is the number one receiver in what is a very impressive wide reviver room. This Offense has some big time weapons, and they can really do damage if you do not slow them down. This team is 12-0 for a reason. This is a really good squad, led by a strong Coach in Sonny Dykes. This team has a chance with destiny, and it is just two games away. There are several college football analysts and opinion leads who believe TCU has already made their case for the Playoff. A win in this game would solidify it.

Kansas State

Kansas State has gone 9-3 in the regular season, including a strong 7-2 record in Big 12 play. The Wildcats enter this one on a three-game winning streak, and victories in four of their last five games. Best thing for Kansas State in this game is no pressure. If they lose, it’s almost certainly off to the bowl games, most likely the Sugar Bowl. Win, and it’s off to the Sugar Bowl while potentially screwing up TCU’s shot at the College Football Playoff. They are playing with nothing to lose, but can potentially mess up a magical season by TCU. The ground game didn’t stop either once Will Howard stepped in at quarterback, but the offense as a whole has been stronger. Deuce Vaughn continues to be a terror as well for this offense. Kansas State has a real chance here to try and maybe ruin the season for TCU.

What to Expect

Defense will have to be the one to step up in this game. It’s a battle of contrasts, as K-State has the Big 12’s No. 1 scoring defense (19 points per game), while TCU boasts the Big 12’s No. 1 scoring offense. Both defenses have shown that they can shut down opponents, but also have shown they can’t get off the field at times. Last time these teams played as well, Kansas State went through 3 quarterbacks. With Will Howard healthy and ready to go, this game should be an exciting one to kick off the Conference Championship Saturday. My prediction is that TCU will have an exciting game and improve to 13-0 en route to a semifinal playoff game. This rematch could go anyone’s way, and should be a fun battle. TCU has more to gain from the win, while Kansas State would have a great story if they won.
