On the March 11th edition of WWE Friday Night Smackdown New Day members Big E and Kofi Kingston were set to take on Sheamus and Ridge Holland in a tag team match. During the match however, Big E took a nasty bump on the outside and landed on his head, rather than his back and was immediately removed from the match via a stretcher at ringside. Ridge Holland went for a belly to belly suplex on the outside, but Big E was unable to flip fully through the move.

Later in the show, Big E posted an update on Twitter where he shows he is able to “move all his digits, but something in his neck is broken” during a video where Big E thanks the fans for their support and tells them the unfortunate news, but insists he will be fine.

Thankfully the injury is not as bad as it could have been and Big E is awake which are two positives for fans to know. It is unfortunate as Wrestlemania is only a few weeks away and this injury will likely keep Big E out for a minimum of nine months if not much longer.

Big E is only a couple of months removed from losing the WWE Championship and was recently moved back to the blue brand to be reunited with Kofi Kingston and King Xavier who is also unfortunately out at the moment with an injury himself.

WWE will be without Big E for the foreseeable future and he will be missed dearly by the fans in his absence, but the fans will be waiting anxiously for any updates and his eventual return.

We here at Championship Sports Media wish Big E a speedy recovery back to full strength and will provide any updates when they are available throughout the course of his recovery.
