The Celtics get revenge against the Knicks with a 99-75 win that puts the season series at 2-2. New York won both matches at home but couldn’t get a win on the road at Boston in the two games in Boston. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics with his first career triple-double, 22 points, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Other significant scorers for Boston tonight include star Jayson Tatum with 19 points. Robert Williams scored 12 points and seven rebounds. Also, Jason Richardson scored 17 points off the bench in 30 minutes. Boston shot 47.4% from the field, 41.4% at the three-point line.

New York’s starters were all in double-digits except for Alex Burks with 8 points. Randle got 13 points and 12 rebounds. Barrett got team-high 19 points and six rebounds. Quickley scored 18 points and four assists.

Boston Strong 2nd Half Strong

The Celtics started the second half with a 44-42 lead but got hot with a 14-4 run to take a 12 point lead with four minutes of the third quarter. An RJ Barrett two-pointer brought the lead to 10 points. But the Celtics, in the final six minutes of the third quarter, outscored New York 15-9 to get the lead to 16 points.

Boston went 11 for 19 from the field, 55.6% from the three-point line. Tatum and Brown combined for 14 of the 32 points in the third quarter. New York never got within 10 points after the third quarter. New York shot 38.1% from the field in the third quarter.

Knicks Can’t Find Offense In 4th Quarter

After a 6-0 run by two three-pointers by Tatum and Richardson. New York couldn’t respond and scored two points within the first six minutes of the fourth quarter. Barrett and Randle made four out of the six made shots in the fourth quarter. The Knicks shot 27.3% in the fourth quarter and 0% from the three-point line. Boston won the game at 99-75, and New York scoring 75 points is their season-low.

Final Thoughts

New York must find consist offense

After the impressive win Tuesday night in New York, the Knicks ends the season series tied against Boston. Scoring 75 points won’t ever be enough for the Knicks to get any wins in the future. Now they will return home for a matchup against the Spurs.

Everybody got involved for Boston

Early on the season, Tatum and Brown got criticized for not giving up the ball and for not getting teammates involved, but everybody got involved tonight. All starters except for Horford got in double-digits. Boston will start another the first half of consecutive games against Indiana.
