On March 17, at 12 p.m. local time (7 a.m. EST), the Champions League Quarterfinals Draw took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The draw featured the 2023 Champions League Ambassador Hamit Altintop and Champions League winner Patrick Kluivert as the two “golden hands.” And the results give football fans some classic battles.

Real Madrid vs. Chelsea

Real Madrid will face Chelsea for the third year in a row. In the previous two years, each team came out on top once and then went all the way to win the tournament. Antonio Rudiger will have the chance to face his former club after leaving the last summer. How will the tie be settled this year?

Manchester City vs. Bayern Munich

They are two of the most high-power attacking teams in the world right now. Manchester City and Bayern Munich possess a star-studded lineup from top to bottom. This will also be a reunion for Joao Cancelo, who left City on loan to play for Bayern only a few months ago. Pep Guardiola will return to Munich after his tenure and face some of the beasts he created.

Inter Milan vs. Benfica

Inter Milan and Benfica had significantly different routes to the Quarterfinals. Benfica is the highest-scoring team of this year’s campaign and just recently destroyed Club Brugge 7-1. Meanwhile, Inter Milan plays gritty football to fend off FC Porto – the other Portuguese team – in the Round of 16.

AC Milan vs. Napoli

The battle of the Italians ensures one Serie A side will be in the Semifinals. The reigning Serie A champion will take on the current leader. Will an experienced AC Milan or a young Napoli come out on top? Whatever the results, these two upcoming matches will surely be fiery and fun to watch.

Timetable

The fixtures of the Champions League Quarterfinals are set for April 11 and April 12 for the first leg, and April 18 and April 19 for the second leg (time to be determined).

The winner of the Real Madrid/Chelsea game will face the winner of the Manchester City/Bayern Munich game. The winner of the Inter Milan/Benfica game will take on the winner of the AC Milan/Napoli game.

May the best teams win!
