The youngest team in baseball shocked the world last season by clinching the American League Central. Now, after adding some veterans. The Guardians seem poised to make it back to the playoffs, though this time they’re looking to make a deeper run. Check out our Cleveland Guardians 2023 Preview:
Within the next year, we could see both Josh Naylor and Bo Naylor on the Guardians roster. However, how cool would it be if the Guardians landed their younger brother Miles, who is supposed to be the better athlete of the three. That would be interesting.
This offseason, the Guardians bulked up their lineup with the additions of Josh Bell and Mike Zunino. The latter is a better catcher than Austin Hedges both offensively and defensively. Zunino mashes against left-handed pitchers. Bell was hitting .300 before being traded to the Padres, but when he arrived in San Diego, he struggled. Not even getting over the mendoza line. Which version of Bell will the Guardians get?
The lineup has an MVP Candidate in Jose Ramirez.
Pitching Staff
As far as the pitching staff, this is a young and stacked rotation that might make a deeper push into the playoffs, if they can stay healthy. Will this be Shane Bieber‘s last year in Cleveland though? Now’s the time to win while you have him in the rotation. Though, the bullpen may be the best part of this team. There’s not a guy in the bullpen that needs to be replaced, everyone is good or great.
