Clippers came out on top against the Celtics 114-111, with Paul George sidelined due to an elbow injury. It was the 51st overall pick Brandon Boston Jr. who stole the spotlight. Boston Jr. scored a career high 27 points and took over the game in the second quarter with his intensity. Brandon Boston Jr. also made a career high three point shots with 5. Clippers had a commanding lead at one point on the game with a 21 point lead midway through the third quarter. The Celtics came back answering with Jayson Tatum putting up nine points before the start of the third quarter to cut it within ( points starting the fourth.

4th Quarter

Celtics put up a fight in the 4th quarter but Marcus Morris Sr. got some clutch one on one buckets and Luke Kennard and Reggie Jackson hit big threes. Celtics kept on fighting with Jayson Tatum putting up 29 points by the end of the game. Dennis Schröder putting up 19 points. Jayson Tatum had a sick move with 1:08 on the clock, getting a rebound of a Schröder missed three. Marcus Morris Sr. next play put up a huge three that splashed. Then all the sudden the Celtics get a steal and an easy layup and its 109-111 clippers with only 22.9 seconds left. The game turned into some high leverage free throws shooting with each team fouling one another. Clippers hit their free throws and it was game over with Ivica Zubac on the line.

Clipper Takeaways

Solid win for the Clippers who played without either of the stars out. Kawhi Leonard still sidelined with the knee and Paul George was a late scratch with some elbow soreness. Paul George was seen taking shots in the pre game warmups but decided not to give it go last night. I would imagine George will be another game time decision when the Clippers take on the Orlando Magic On Saturday the 11th. Looking forward I hope to see more playing time from Brandon Boston Jr. and also the solid effort Marcus Morris Sr. is giving the Clippers.
