Summary
Jonathan Taylor and the Colts delivered the win for Indianapolis yesterday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts offense and especially defense performed well to grab themselves a victory. Trevor Lawrence, who had a minor injury from last week’s game, was sacked three times and fumbled the ball twice, and lost it once. The Lucas Oil Stadium was at 96% capacity with 60,662 in attendance. I predicted in my article about Trevor Lawrence last week that the score would be 21-15, making me 2 points off for each team since the final score was 23-17.
The victory was needed by the Colts, working hard to get it. Carson Wentz was quoted as saying, “It’s big, especially against a division opponent. It seems like we’ve been climbing out of this hole for a while now. It wasn’t our best game, but a win’s a win.” Wentz will also have his second child with his wife, Madison, arriving any day now surely adding to the quarterback’s stress.
Trevor Lawrence was quoted as saying he was disappointed with his performance in this game. Being the rookie quarterback for the Jaguars he’s got a lot to prove and none of it will be easy. Surely we will see a lot of scrutiny over Lawrence’s performance Sunday. Hopefully, the Jaguars can put out a better performance next Sunday at home vs San Francisco. Here is a short recap from the Jaguars:
Injury Report
Dakota Allen (Linebacker, Jaguars) was out in the 4th quarter with an injured shoulder.
Xavier Rhodes (Cornerback, Colts) was inactive with a calf injury.
Kwity Page (defensive end, Colts) and Quenton Nelson (Left guard, Colts) both had to leave briefly but returned.
Darius Leonard (Linebacker, Colts) also left in the 4th quarter with an injured left ankle.
Upcoming Games
This Sunday the Jaguars will face off at home against the 49ers, and the Colts will head to New York to face Buffalo.
