Stop all the trade rumors for Damian Lillard, he has officially announced that he is staying in the city of Portland. Lillard reaffirmed his commitment to the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, seemingly bringing a temporary end to the speculation about his future with the franchise.

For Blazers fans, the last few months may have been full of wondering how the team would do without their star Point Guard. But Rip City just took a sigh of relief when dame posted on his Instagram. “Back for more… #RipCity is my city”

Many teams have been trying to persuade both Dame and the Blazers to accept a trade.

It has yet to be seen if the Blazers have done enough to truly contend for a Championship, but they have done enough to keep Damian Lillard happy. In his report, Charania wrote the Blazers “have fully focused on continuing to build around Lillard.”

Though, perhaps the arrival of new head coach Chauncey Billlups and the acquisition of Larry Nance Jr. will help Portland climb to the next tier in the Western Conference. In the event things don’t drastically change for the better, Lillard’s status is likely to once again be a topic of discussion.

Lillard will have the Blazers back in the thick of things with an elite array of shooting. It’s up to Dame and the Blazers to improve on the defensive end. If they do so, they might be able to secure a top seed in the west and possibly contend for a championship.
