Deebo Samuel 49ers Chances

It’s the second time in five years that the 49ers have fallen just short of winning a championship. We might have seen the last of this group. On Tuesday, Deebo Samuel joined the Up & Adams podcast to discuss the 49ers chances heading into next season.

Even with the loss to the Chiefs, the 49ers are a favorite to win the NFC once again. They’re also the favorite to win the Super Bowl next season. According to Fan Duel, they are at +230 and +500 respectively.

At first, it sounds like Deebo Samuel doubts the 49ers chances of going back to the Super Bowl. He does have a fair point, it took them four years to get back. When, you dive in deeper to the interview it doesn’t appear that way.

“The two [Super Bowls] that we’ve been in, just falling short is so heartbreaking, man,” Samuel said Tuesday on the Up & Adams Show. “… People just say, ‘There’s always a next year,’ but I heard that in 2019 and it took four more years to get where we’re at.

“It’s not that easy as people think to get to the Super Bowl. It takes everything.”

“If you look at it, we still got 90-95 percent of the guys that’s coming back,” Samuel said to host Kay Adams. “I got all the faith in the world in this team that we have. It’s cool and all four out of five NFC championships, making two Super Bowls, that’s all cool, fine, and dandy, but it’s not cool when you’re not the team at the end of the year holding the Lombardi.”

Both times that Samuel has been to the Super Bowl, the 49ers lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. This time was a lot closer than in 2020, but it wound up being the same result. Outside of making a few additions, the 49ers will mostly be running it back next season. A lot of people have doubted Brock Purdy‘s ability but the 49ers appear to be sticking with him. They’ve given him several weapons on offense.

“Everybody on this team has one goal, and I hope we set out and we get it done.”
