Tyler Shough, who will 25 next September announced his decision on where he’ll transfer Tuesday via social media. He’ll be headed into his seventh year collegiately.
Most of his playing time for Shough has been cut short by injuries. Since entering the college ranks in 2018, Shough has been with two programs. He spent two years at Oregon, where he backed up Justin Herbert in 2018 and 2019. From there, he would start for the Ducks in the COVID-19-shortened season in 2020. Tyler Shough would then transfer to Texas Tech, where he has spent three more years that have all been derailed by injuries.
He started 13 games for the Red Raiders, going 9-4 during that span. He wound up being named the MVP of the Texas Bowl after he led Tech to a 42-25 victory over Ole Miss. He threw for 242 yards and accounted for three touchdowns.
He threw for 4,625 yards and 36 touchdowns in 27 career games combined at the two schools. His career completion percentage is more than 63%. Overall, he owns a 13-7 record as a college starter. During the Covid Season, Shough led the Ducks to a 4-3 record.
His final season at Texas Tech ended with a Broken Fibula in September. With the transfer to Louisville, the starting spot won’t come easy for Tyler Shough. He’ll have to compete for the replacement of Jack Plummer. Though, he’ll look to benefit from the passing attack playcalling of Louisville’s Jeff Brohm. Louisville boasted the No. 3 offense in ACC and reached the Conference championship.
Shough is a former ESPN 300 recruit from the Class of 2018. He’s 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds and is from Chandler, Arizona.
